How to Deposit with a Card
A card deposit at CasinOnline takes a minute or two. You enter your card details in the cashier, choose an amount, then approve a 3D Secure check from your bank. Once that clears, the funds reflect instantly. Here is the full sequence and what the 3D Secure step looks like for South African cards.
Step by step
- Open the cashier and choose Card Transfer as your deposit method.
- Enter your card number, expiry date and CVV (the three digits on the back).
- Enter the amount you want to deposit.
- Submit. Your bank triggers a 3D Secure check.
- Approve the prompt, either a one-time PIN (OTP) or an in-app approval.
- Once approved, the funds reflect in your account instantly.
The cardholder name must match your CasinOnline account holder, so use a card in your own name.
The 3D Secure OTP step
3D Secure is the security layer banks use to confirm it is really you. It is branded Verified by Visa, Mastercard Identity Check or Amex SafeKey, and in practice it is usually a one-time PIN sent by SMS, or an approval prompt inside your banking app.
ABSA, Nedbank, Standard Bank, FNB and Investec pre-enrol their cards, so expect an OTP or app prompt every time. If you do not complete it, the deposit does not go through. If the OTP never arrives, the cell number on file at your bank is likely wrong or outdated — update it with the bank. Prefer not to deal with OTPs? Instant EFT and Capitec Pay are alternatives.
