1Voucher Change & Leftover Balance

A 1Voucher is redeemed for its full face value by default, so depositing less than the voucher is worth leaves change. Partial redemption is not possible on Flash machines, but where a site allows partial use, that leftover is not lost — it comes back as a brand-new PIN.

How leftover value is returned

Where partial use is allowed, the change is reissued as a fresh 1Voucher PIN, managed in the 1ForYou app. It is not paid out as cash and it is not refunded to a card. So a R200 voucher used against a R150 deposit leaves R50, and that R50 becomes a new PIN rather than disappearing.

How this differs from OTT

This is where 1Voucher and OTT differ. A 1Voucher reissues change as a new PIN in the 1ForYou app, while an OTT Voucher returns change to an OTT Wallet instead. For the full range, see all deposit methods.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the change from a R200 voucher on a R150 deposit?

The R50 comes back as a brand-new 1Voucher PIN in the 1ForYou app. It is not cash and not a card refund, but it is not lost either.

Can I redeem only part of a 1Voucher?

Not on Flash machines, which redeem the full face value. Where a site allows partial use, the remainder is reissued as a fresh PIN.
