Rugby Sevens Odds
Sevens has two outright markets — the tournament winner for a single leg, and the series winner for the SVNS season. Here is how the odds work, what moves them, and how to find the value.
Tournament and series markets
The tournament winner market prices every team in a single leg to win that weekend's event, from short-odds favourites to long-shot outsiders. The series winner market runs the whole SVNS season, where points banked across the legs decide the champion — a longer hold at bigger prices. You back one selection at the odds shown, and that price is locked in even if it shortens later, so backing a fancied team early is how value is found. The Blitzboks, Fiji, New Zealand, Argentina and the hosts usually head both markets.
What moves the odds
Sevens odds shift on the pool draw (a tough pool lengthens a team's price), squad rotation, injuries and, once a tournament starts, results across the day. You can also bet shorter-odds related markets — pool qualification, or to reach the cup final — covered in the Rugby Sevens betting guide. For who is likely to go well, see the Rugby Sevens predictions page, and for the South African angle the Blitzboks page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between tournament and series odds?
Tournament odds back a team to win a single SVNS leg that weekend. Series odds back a team to win the whole season, decided on points banked across all the legs — a longer hold at bigger prices.
Do my odds change after I bet?
No. You take the price shown when you place the bet, and it is locked in — your payout is set even if the team shortens later.
