Mega Millions Multiplier
Since the 2025 revamp, every Mega Millions play comes with a built-in multiplier. It replaced the old optional 'Megaplier' add-on — here is what it does and how it factors into a bet.
How the multiplier works
For each Mega Millions play, a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x is randomly applied. In the American game it multiplies the value of non-jackpot prize tiers by that number — it does not apply to the jackpot itself. Because every play now gets at least a 2x multiplier, the lower prize tiers are worth more than before.
